01. The FBM214 HART Communication Input Interface Module features eight 4 to 20 mA group-isolated analog input channels. It supports any combination of standard 4 to 20 mA devices and HART devices, providing flexibility for a variety of field instrumentation. 02. As a HART communications field device host, the FBM214 allows the I/A Series system to request and receive up to two digital messages per second from each field device. Its message pass-through capability supports HART universal, common practice, and device-specific commands, though it does not support burst communication mode. These commands are implemented using the Intelligent Field Device Configurator (IFDC). 03. The module provides a common isolated power supply for all eight channels, with the option to use an external power supply. When powering two or more channels from a common external supply, a Cable Balun module is required to prevent channel cross talk, ensuring accurate and reliable signal transmission. |
